Dinner Party Perfect: Mulled Wine

An easy way to impress your friends this chilly season is with the classic Mulled Wine. Serve this winter cocktail at your next dinner party and fill your home with alluring scents of cinnamon and clove. Pair perfectly with the traditional Krosno Avant-Garde 6-Piece Wine Glass Set or (for something a little fancier) the Shaynna Blaze Criss Cross 6 Piece Wine Glass Set.

Ingredients

  • 750ml bottle of fruity red wine
  • 300ml of cranberry juice
  • 300ml of orange juice
  • 100g of sugar
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 20 cloves
  • 1 orange

Method

  1. Stud the orange with cloves. What does this mean? Puncture the orange with a toothpick and place a whole clove in each hole you make
  2. Place the studded orange in a saucepan with the wine, cranberry juice, orange juice, sugar and cinnamon sticks. Heat until nearly boiling - be careful not to let it boil - then remove from the heat
  3. Let the wine stand for up to one to two hours
  4. When serving, reheat the wine (without boiling it) and strain into glasses

Christmas in July: Peppermint Martini

One of the best cocktails for feeling refreshed, the Peppermint Martini will have you dreaming of Christmas, and is the perfect peppermint cocktail for settling down by the fire and savouring its minty flavour. For a different take on the martini glass, instead opt for the Pasabahce Timeless Champagne Saucer to add a sense of luxury to your evening.

Ingredients

  • 70ml of vanilla vodka
  • 30ml of white creme de menthe
  • 15ml of peppermint schnapps

Method

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice - we recommend the Davis & Waddell Taste Opaline Cocktail Shaker in Pink and Gold
  2. Pour in vodka, creme de menthe and peppermint schnapps and shake well
  3. Strain into a martini glass or your glass of choice
