Glistening with fruit and smelling of spice and all things nice, it's no wonder we all love a traditional pudding for Christmas dessert. The great thing about Nana Wendy's recipe is it tastes even better if you make it ahead of time.We hope you enjoying making this yummy pud as much as your guests enjoy devouring it!

Nana Wendy's Christmas Pudding

230 grams Raisins
230 grams Sultanas
230 grams Pitted dates (chopped)
160 grams Butter
110 grams Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
60 grams Fresh Breadcrumbs
180 grams Plain Flour
Pinch of Salt
2 Teaspoons Mixed Spices
1 Teaspoon Nutmeg
¼ Teaspoon Bicarbonate of Soda
¼ Cup Cold Black Tea


Smith+Nobel 2L Pudding Steamer
Chopping Board
Medium Knife
Mixing Bowl
Wooden Spoons
Measuring Jug
Measuring Spoons


  1. Grease pudding steamer in preparation.
  2. Using a bowl cream Butter and Sugar together.
  3. Add Eggs one at a time.
  4. Stir in Breadcrumbs and all dry ingredients.
  5. Add Black Tea.
  6. Place in Steamer.
  7. Place steamer into a large stockpot of boiling water keeping the water below lip of steamer.
  8. Continue to add boiling water if needed.
  9. Cook for three hours.
  10. Carefully lift steamer from water.
  11. Allow to stand for 10 minutes.
  12. Remove lid and turn pudding onto a plate.
  13. Serve with cream or custard.
