Gourmet recipes to make at home with your sandwich press

Using your sandwich maker doesn't always have to be for sandwiches. You can also make a variety of delicious snacks for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert with this versatile kitchen appliance! Some of our favourite recipes include:

  • Pancakes - If you have a flat surface on your sandwich press, you'll be able to use it to make pancakes. This saves you turning on the stovetop and makes cleaning a breeze! Pour your pancake batter onto the flat surface of your sandwich press and cook for a minute or two on each side, flipping to cook both sides like you would in a pan.
  • Warm chocolate croissants - Wake up to a Parisian breakfast with warm chocolate croissants. You can use handmade or store-bought chocolate croissants. Place them on the sandwich press for a few minutes to melt the chocolate inside and create a deliciously warm, toasty treat with an oozing chocolate centre.
  • Grilled vegetables - Perfect for when you need to grill vegetables before adding them to a sandwich, salad or just on their own. Add a little butter or oil to the flat side of your sandwich press. Slice your veggies evenly and add to the surface (we love capsicum, eggplant, tomatoes, zucchini and onions), close the lid and cook for approximately 2 minutes (note, it's always good to keep an eye on them as some veggies cook faster than others). Now you have tasty grilled vegetables to add to your meal.

How to clean your sandwich press

Cleaning your sandwich press is easy. It's important not to use any abrasive sponges or brushes as these can affect the non-stick surface. We recommend using a soft sponge with warm soapy water. Wipe the surface with the sponge, carefully removing any food residue. Check any areas where food may get stuck as you'll need to remove all particles from the sandwich press when cleaning. Once done, take a fresh damp cloth and wipe it down, removing any soap suds and ensuring the surface is clean and dry before you pack it away. There's no need to use any chemicals to clean your sandwich maker as these can impact the non-stick surface.
