Choosing a quilt for every season

Choosing a quilt for every season

Wool

  • Available in a range of fill weights
  • Wool fibre is a natural insulator which breathes and allows even warmth
  • Made with a cotton casing which helps absorb moisture
  • Maintains loft
  • May be dry cleaned or machine washable
  • Usually flat and heavy to keep you warm in those cold winter months

Down/Feather

  • Durable and naturally breathable fill, keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer
  • Highly resistant natural fibre with a long lifespan
  • A higher percentage of down content in the quilt offers more warmth, loft and softness
  • Box construction in most quilts will keep the filling in place

Cotton

  • Natural fibre
  • Ideal for warmer months and climates
  • Less loft than wool and other fibres
  • Ideal for people with allergies
  • Absorbs moisture away from the body

Polyester

  • Man-made synthetic fibre
  • Easy care and most are machine washable
  • Ideal for those who are sensitive to natural fibres and allergy sufferers
  • Lightweight microfiber fillings are designed to replicate down quilts
  • Can be treated to kill dust mites and microbial infestations
